Tadepalli: YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday alleged that resentment is brewing among people as what he termed the TDP-led coalition government had failed miserably pre-poll promises.
He told the media here that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his team was spreading blatant lies to mislead people since formation of the government in June and alleged that they are indulging in blatant misuse of power by foisting false and fabricated cases against political detractors. On State finances, Reddy said that his government had performed better than national average and previous TDP terms despite Covid. Contrasting the seven month period from June to December, he said there is negative growth rate in State revenue and termed the claim of 13 per cent growth rate as absurd. "All the days, they have been spreading lies that Jagan has borrowed Rupees14 lakh crore but in their own budget they brought it down to Rs6.46 crore," he contended.
The YSRCP leader said a wrong picture is being portrayed on the State finances, implementation of welfare schemes, governance, growth rate and social welfare and gave a blow by account to substantiate his charges. "I had during electioneering told that Naidu has been giving false and impracticable promises," he said and claimed that after coming to power, he has started 'hoodwinking' the people.
Reddy said as of now, Naidu has borrowed or applied for loans to a tune of Rs1.45 lakh crore. The rampant corruption prevailing in the State has a pattern in the form of a cartel from locals to the top leadership having their cut, leaving development and welfare to wind. Indiscriminate
liquor outlets and gambling dens are flourishing in the State, he alleged.
